Ultimate Paddle Board offers SUP signature workouts.

This a great opportunity to mix up your workout regime with the popular water sport that is taking over the beaches and waterways. SUPcore™ is a program designed for adult and children, both men & women, using Stand Up Paddleboards (SUP).

The program focuses on a variety of exercises out on land or water with strong warm-up paddling, sprint drills, a combination of fitness exercises covering all the major muscle groups using resistance bands and body resistance, a race scenario and a power yoga segment including Savasana. This class is the fast paced and fun for those looking to add an alternate workout to their weekly regimen or who enjoy cross-training workouts.

Varieties of the signature workout exist:

  • Introduction to SUP
  • SUP Fit
  • SUP Yoga
  • SUP Train
  • SUP Studio

A thorough 90 minute session which teaches the 3 phase paddle stroke (catch, power, and recovery), emphasis on the exit/release, different turning techniques, bracing, how to deal with various conditions while out on the water and the beginning stages on how to pick up one’s cadence in order to progress in the sport of SUP.

The first part of the lesson is conducted on dry land where the stroke skills are first practiced on top a paddle board which is balancing on two BOSU Trainers.  This concept simulates the instability and core firing one will experience through the sport of SUP before students are on the water. Once on the water, the students are given constant feedback and by the end of the first lesson, the student knows how to paddle efficiently and skillfully. Majority of the students are now ready to experience our other exciting class offerings or are ready to paddle on their own.
